At 12.30 PM Eastern Time today (Thursday, 24 February 2022), Project Save the World will be hosting a 1-hour discussion on Zones of Peace in Ukraine and the South Caucasus. This discussion will be facilitated and hosted by Metta Spencer. The panelists include:

  • Christopher Mitchell — a Professor Emeritus of Conflict Analysis and Resolution and the former Director of the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University. Dr. Mitchell also leads the Carter School's "Local Zones of Peace" project which "involves delineating and analysing local communities’ efforts to establish neutral and secure “zones of peace” in countries suffering from protracted conflicts."
  • Guguli Magradze — a prominent Member of Parliament of Georgia, the First Deputy Chairperson of Georgia's Committee on European Integration, and the Director of the Institute of Conflict Analysis and Management at Tbilisi State University.
  • Irakli Kakabadze — a renowned Georgian writer, performance artist, and peace and human rights activist.
  • Lyn Adamson — the National Co-Chair of Canadian Voice of Women for Peace and a lifelong activist for peace, social justice, and the environment.
  • Jill Carr-Harris — a leader of the Jai Jagat International movement in India and an expert on Gandhian nonviolence and peace. Please note that Dr. Carr-Harris is also travelling in India and may have limited internet connectivity during the panel.
