Hi Smriti,

From the attached link, you can download the ssurgo database file and put it into the database folder of your swat directory. This should solve your problem.

Thanks,
Suman

Hi Smritik and Suman,

I am facing similar error while writing the input table but it mentions 'Syntax error in Insert INTO statement: in,mWriteInputFiles.sol" (screen capture attached). I do have the SSURGO mdb in database (ArcSWAT does create table by the name tbSoilList in the mdb containing soils MUKEY of watershed under study) and there are no blank row or column.

Could you let me know if I am doing something wrong in the way I am doing things with SSURGO? I unable to understand the issue.

Thanks,
Anish

Hi Anish,

Which swat version are you referring to? I did notice that there are some issues in the latest ssurgo database file. I would suggest you use the ssurgo database file of past years (eg. 2018), this should solve your problem.

Thanks,
Suman

Thanks Suman.

I am using ArcSWAT 2012.10.24 with ArcMap 10.7.1 and using the ssurgo mdb available in the SWAT website (updated July 2020). Do you know where I can get previous SSURGO mdb used by SWAT?

Hi Smriti and Anish,

You can get the old SSURGO database file from someone else who has been using SWAT (not the recently updated database). Its better to use the older version than to spend time in searching for errors in the new table. Check if the one that I have uploaded works for you. In case this database doesn't include all the soil information for your field, you can manually insert that from the updated database table you have.

Thanks,
Suman

Thanks Suman. Finally it worked, only had to update soil.

I spent a week figuring out this and no use.  Thanks again for the help.

Happy weekend,
Anish

Hi,
I have been trying to write SWAT database using SSURGO soil. I always get error that some data base is missing in SWAT SSURGO Soils.mbd.  Attached image shows the type of error I got. Could you please help me how to fix this?
Really appreciate your help and time.

You should update the soil database as soil 3098716 is not present in your soil database. So you can download the latest soil database from SWAT (https://swat.tamu.edu/software/arcswat/) then search for missing soil and copy-paste the value to your soil database. For example, I have attached the properties for the soil 3098716

Hello
I am getting the same error   'Syntax error in Insert INTO statement: in,mWriteInputFiles.sol"  . The SSURGO mdb is in the ArcSWAT folder.  I was looking at the tbSoilList and wasn't sure exactly what information that gives - in mine it has a few soil mukeys of the study watershed.  Could you tell me what it does?
From my watershed soil file, doesn't seem like there are any soils that are missing in the ssurgo database. But I do keep getting this error.  I am struggling to understand what the issue is.  Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Rasika

Hi Rasika,

In thread above Suman has shared an older version of SSURGO database. Use that instead of the latest SSURGO database available, it solve your issue.

Hi All,

Am using the older version of the SSURGO database shared by Suman but I still have some missing soils.

Please where do I get the soil properties to update the database?

Thank you,
Collins

Hi Collins,
That happened to me as well. I realized that error appears if your soil is not 100% covered to watershed. Make sure you check that during HRU analysis.

I resolved the error by rebuilding my soil map. However I now have the following error (see screenshot below). I have seen this error lots on the forum, so I will start looking for a solution for it.

Anish I am looking for soil_1298 I have been searching the internet for hours, any idea where I can find the properties for this SSURGO soil? Also, do I just append the text file to my access file as a new record?
