I'm an MTech student , currently working on incorporating ponds into micro watershed through Arc Swat , but I'm just changing the pond parameters like PND_FR , PND_VOL , POND_K , even though by changing these parameters also the runoff has not been decreased , so please correct me if the methodology is wrong and kindly help me to sort out this issue...

Hello,
As I remember there is a tick mark during the watershed delineation, to add ponds to every sub-basin. Please do this. And then yes, you would just need to adjust these parameters.
I'm not at all surprised that the runoff did not decrease, as the ponds will retain certain amount of water but, unless it is a huge pond, it wont make a difference in the flow. Water quality is a different story :)
All the best,
Natalja

Dear Natalja,
I want to simulate the effect of the pond in the outlet of the subbasin, and then I consider PND_FR = 1 which means the whole watershed drains to the pond, in this case, model simulate erosion and sediment yield equal to zero. it seems the model doesn't consider the maximum area and volume of the pond. why?

is the way I calculate PND_FR wrong? how should I calculate PND_FR parameter?

I would appreciate it if you guided me in this case.

Best,
Marziyeh

Dear  Natalja,
actually, I haven't seen any tick for the pond. Could you please let me know where it is?
There is a section for the reservoir !!!!
find a kindly attached watershed delineation step window.

Best,
Marziyeh
