Dear All
I am new to SWAT modeling.
Can any one tell me what are all the attributes a land use  and soil map should contain for a simple watershed area?
kindly let me know how to start working in SWAT model.

Regards

Hi,

have you been able to look through the ArcSWAT documentation that came
with the SWAT download package?

I notice on page 333 (Section 15.1 User Soils Database) it notes that
the SWAT2009.mdb that came with your SWAT download contains a table
"usersoil" that has the right fields for your database and sample
records.

Then, if you go into the SWAT Input/Output File 2009 documentation
(available at http://swatmodel.tamu.edu/documentation ), and go to
Chapter 22, you can read the definitions of most of the field names in
the .mdb database for the "usersoil" table.

Landuse layer is simpler...you just need a raster of your landuse that
matches the period of time you're modeling. Then, you need to
classify each of the raster values with one of SWAT landcover/landuse
types, either manually in SWAT or by using a reclassification table
(see the SWAT documentation, page 100 in the most current version).
The SWAT landuse codes that you will assign to your raster are in the
SWAT Input/Output 2009 documentation under Appendix A, Landcover/Plant
growth database (p. 436 in most recent version).

After you use these layers in the HRU Analysis, you will have to add
management according to the landcovers, but it sounds like this is not
your problem right now.

Good luck!
