Hi SWAT users,

Right now I am trying to provide ArcSWAT interface the locations of my
precipitation and temperature station locations as a dbf table. I have
obtained the weather data in a SWAT acceptable format from :
http://www.ars.usda.gov/Research/docs.htm?docid=19390. As my study
watershed essentially covers four counties in North Carolina, I have
downloaded the weather data for these four counties and have merged
the precipitation and temperature location tables into a single dbf
file (separately for precipitation and temperature for these 4
counties). Now when I try to upload the dbf files for raingage and
temperature it shows me a message like "error in loading the table". I
suppose there is something wrong with the XPR,YPR values as because in
the example database they are just positive 5 and 7 digit integers but
in my case they are a bit different the XPR being negative and also
having decimals.

I am also attaching my precipitation table with this post so that you
can have exact idea of the issue. Any insights/ suggestions would be
highly appreciated.

Thank you very much,
Somsubhra

I think XPR and YPR should be in projected coordinates.  Your values appear to be longitude and latitude, in decimal degrees -- i.e., in "GCS" (geographic coordinate system -- probably NAD83?), which is not a projection.  Most projects are run in a UTM projection.  If you don't have the UTM coordinates of your stations, it is fairly simple to create a point shapefile from a file of longitudes and latitudes, project that shapefile to your selected projection for your project, and then add some fields to your attribute table and have ArcGIS calculate the projected coordinates.
Then -- try again to make a precip gauge location table, this time with the new coordinates.
Cheers,
-- Jim
