Dear all

I am a PhD student and I have to simulate a river basin with hourly data (precipitation and temperature). I already have done the daily simulation (and calibration) and now I need to run the model hourly.Does anybody know which files should I change (.pcp, .tmp, weather stations, etc???) in order to run the model hourly? Does anybody have an example of an hourly simulation? Does anybody know what the format of the hourly .pcp and .tmp files should look like?

I use
ArcMap version 9.3.1
and
ArcSWAT version 2009.93.7b

Thank you all in advance

Have you checked the manual? That might be a good place to start: http://swat.tamu.edu/documentation/2012-io/

Actually I have. I have tried to change the format of the .pcp and .tmp files as it says but the model doesn't run. It returns an error. I was wondering if someone has an example for me to see just to be sure that the error is not on the format of the files. It would be great if someone used the model for sub-daily simulations.

Thanks for the reply

Check the "exInputs" folder in your ArcSWAT/Databases folder. There are two subdaily pcp files as examples. I have not used sub daily pcp myself, but this might be another place to start.

I will try to figure it out from these files. Thanks again for your help!

Hi Sotiria,

Keep in mind that SWAT at sub-daily time-step only recquires sub-daily PCP files. TMP is still daily.
Also check the version of SWAT you are using. The swat2012 executable, especially the 635 release, is much more reliable for sub-daily simulation than the previous ones.

Cheers
Laurie

thanks your videos. Can sub-daily runoff be simulated with the reservoir module enabled?
