Dear all

I was wondering if there is any paper or publications that analyze what are the restrictions and limitations of the model. Under which conditions does the model not perform correctly?

Thanks a lot in advance

Juan

Dear Juan, This is a good question. As far as I know, the weakness of the SWAT model to simulate runoff due to simulation of snow melt for mountainous watersheds, assumptions of the model for percolation into a frozen saturated soil layer. you can Google it for more details. I hope other users introduce more restrictions and limitations.

Sincerely,
Iman

I don't think there is a specific publication, but basically if you read the theory of the model carefully you will understand the limitations. There are too many assumptions to mention. I think you need to understand the assumptions underlying HRUs, curve numbers and routing for a start. There are many other, essentially related to the structure of the model.
