Hello everyone,

I'm presently changing the management parameters to more adequately
represent whats going on in my watershed, and am wondering if anyone
else feels the high boundary for the amount of fertilizer applied to
the land is a little low. The boundary is 500 kg/ha, and I have
fields where 34 tons/ha of manure is applied. Has anyone ran into
this same problem? If I go into the program and change this boundary,
will it cause errors in the program?

Thank you for any help you can send my way.

Mark,
Are we talking short or long tons? And what is the nutrient content of
the Manure (i.e. the fertilizer N equivalent). 34,000 kg * 1% is 340
Kg of N, but you might be much higher. I am sure it is an easy thing
to adjust in the source code, have a crack!

Mark,

When using SWAT2000 I had to adjust the higher range from 500 to 5000
for single manure application events. Remember that values you get
from a county conservationist are typically wet weights, so you may
have to reduce your application to reflect that. You will need to go
into the database file for fertilizer and adjust that parameter's
range.
