For those of you working in the USA --
I see that the readily available coarse-resolution soils data is now called STATSGO2, with each record keyed via the map-unit key, or MUKEY. In contrast, SWAT looks for, typically, a map-unit identifying code, or MUID -- which doesn't exist in the new data.
(1) Can the new STATSGO2 data be used in SWAT directly -- am I missing something?
(2) Is there anywhere a table the defines the correspondence between the old STATSGO and the new STATSGO2 map units? (so that the new format could be used in SWAT)
(3) If we should just go ahead and use the old STATSGO format, where can one download the "old" shapefiles? I can't find an option on the NRCS soils-mart site for the older format (only STATSGO2). I also checked out the EPA-BASINS site, but found only metadata (and a link to the NRCS soils-mart site).
Thanks -- I've spent several hours trying to google-up an answer, with no luck.
