Hi ArcSwat users,

Im getting the error "Index was outside the bounds of the array" when
setting up swat run. Ater that, another message comes telling "file
was already open". Then im able to execute run but an error comes:

forrtl: severe (24): end-of-file during read, unit 171, file
D:....Scenarios\Default\txtinout\septwq.dat

I noticed that the first message comes out when the system is writing
point sources files. However, im not sure if the problem is there
because the last message refers to the file septwq.dat, and im not
even simulating water quality. Besides, I sucessfully ran before the
same point sources files in another similar project (just with another
land use). I looked for related posts in this forum, and I found no
answer. ¿Does anybody knows why this happens?

Id really appreaciate any suggestion. Thanks so much,

Fabian

P.S: Im using ArsSwat 2009.93.5 in ArcMap 9.3.

Hi Fabian,

Did you checked your seprng table in the SWAT2009 mdb to see if you
have any parameters out of range?!

best regards
Filipa

Hi Filipa, thanks for your suggestion. Im not even simulating water
quality, so I didnt even manipulate septic water quality files or
ranges. Nevertheless I checked SWAT2009.mdb as you told me and it was
weird because I found a couple of values that were beyond boundaries,
and I changed them...but it didn't work!!

I'll keep checking what can be happening and if I found the answer
I'll let you know.

Thanks so much,

Fabian

If you're not simulating water quality, did you hit "write septic files?" and then do "rewrite swat input files?"

That kind of error is usually caused by a mismatch between the number of years of climate data, and the number of years of point discharge data. It can also be caused by formatting error in your columns. Check every input file (I mean the actual SWAT input files, not the mdb file) and make sure they all have the same length and date ranges. You'll be able to determine quickly which input file gave you that error (this is a fortran read error) and then go to the MDB file and see what might be causing it to write incorrectly.

Hi.  I had to use "Rewrite SWAT Input File", just that.

Regards,

Erick
