Hello,Good morning:

In SWAToutput file, I found these 3 runoff results:

i. SURQ=Surface runoff contribution to streamflow during time step (mm H2O).[this was located in .sub output table]
ii. SURQ_GEN = Surface runoff generated in HRU during time step (mm H2O).[this was located in .hru output table]
iii. SURQ_CNT= Surface runoff contribution to streamflow in the main channel during time step (mm H2O).[this was located in .hru output table]

I'm using (i) output to know how much runoff water produce in each sub basin.

But I'm confuse, when I'm investigating how much each land cover produce runoff, which output should I use, (ii) or (iii)? And why output in (ii) gave higher total runoff as compared to (iii)?

Which output related to each other? From the definition, it is obviously output (i) related to (iii). Is this true? And why we need result (ii)?

Please help me to understand this.

Thank you.

Regards,
Adil

It depends on what your objective is..if you want to know the surface runoff from each landuse in the subbasin SURQ in .sub should be used. SWAT Check also provides land use specific runoff for the entire watershed in one the tabs.

Dear sir

How do i compute the water yield of sub basin from the output.hru ?
I want to compare this with the yield with yield from sub basin and then with flowout from output.rch.

I used weighted area to multiply the values of each hru and sum them .
But only ET and precip values match.

Can you help me?

Regards
Shiva
