Hey Joseph,

did you solve your problem? I keep getting the exact same error messages..
I have checked my .sol and usersoil table in the SWAT2012 database over and over again, but cant find any empty fields or obvious format problems.

Hope to hear from you,
Teresa

Dear Teresa

In your project folder there is SWAT2012 MS database file, if you open MS file and navigate to user soils table, you might have some negative values somewhere
I know that arcSWAT also does not accept empty spaces (put 0 instead).
Save your changes and write the soil files again hope that helps.

Dear Joseph,

thanks a lot for your quick reply!!

I have checked all the values but cant find any empty or negative value fields (I attached a link to google drive where you can find my SWAT2012.mbd). As I have been making quite a few changes to the data there are a lot of different (user)soil versions so don`t let that confuse you.. I would really appreciate your help, if you have a minute and could have a quick look into my data?

Thank you in advance!
Teresa

Hi,

I am getting error "the field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add. try inserting or pasting less data .: in ,mwriteinputfiles.sol". I have replaced all empty cell with zeros and also followed " https://zhiqiangyu.wordpress.com/2016/01/20/arcswat-error-try-inserting-or-pasting-less-data-in-mwriteinputfiles-sol/" but still getting the attached error any solution?

Hi, I have this question, too!
But I can not delete or edit the field, how can you do it?

THANKS A LOT

Solution: For syntax error in mWriteInputFiles.sol, Check 'usersoil' database table in SWATmdb. In that table, there are some columns exist with partially filled data. Either delete them or add values according your judgement. This cause syntax error.

Hello, everyone.

I'm with the same problem as you. It appears: Syntax error in mWriteInputFiles.sol

I tried to complet the empty columns with zero and I saved the SWAT2012mdb.
But now I need to know where I can write this inside the SWAT Project. Was it in the beggining of the projet?
Or it updates automatically?

Because it still appears the same error....and just put the "zero" in the empty cells didn't resolve the problem....

Thanks in advance.

I had this same issue, and the only fix I could find was in this thread:

I had to download an older version of the SSURGO soils (which is linked in one of the responses), because the most recent version from 2020 seems to have some issues.  Maybe this will work for you too

I am having the same problem. Can you please suggest to me the probable cause of this? and solution?
I have checked the user soil for empty or negative values but I see no issue with it.

I solved this issue by using the swatvssurgo2019 version. However, I don't understand why swat ssurgo 2020 version caused this issue.

Hafez:

I was not able to click and see the file that you are using.  I have attached the soil for 2019 which has helped others with this problem.  I hope it does you as well.

You don't often get email from wfahydrol...@gmail.com. Learn why this is important

Hello, can anyone help me?
I am facing this problem "Error:- No value given for one or more required parameters" that Nancy had answered, but I don't know how to check the properties of the sol file as well as the source of the information concerned.
