Hello All,

When I tried to rewrite SWAT input files after editing management operations I got message like "unrecognized database format" (for my project database). Whereas it works well when I edit other parameters such as groundwater etc, before touching the management operations. I copied the project database from backup that gave same message always whenever I try to edit management operations. Any possible solution???

Thanks
Hafiz

Hafiz,
What exactly did you edit in the operations? I'm not sure what your
error is, but sometimes when I'm getting an error that I can't figure
out, I just write the file again which sets it back to default. Make
sure you have your edits recorded beforehand though. Not necessarily
the best answer, but if you're at a loss, this may be your best bet if
you don't get an answer from someone else here.
Regards,
Kyle

Kyle,

I wrote all files and model worked well until I set the default simulation, which is previously SWAT calibration simulation. After loading this simulation SWAT re-wrote files perfectly. But when I went to management operation; there was same problem (message attached). I did not even edit any operation, just opened and closed management operations window and tried to re-write files. Any more suggestion.

Thanks and regards,
Hafiz

One more thing I noticed, when I opened and closed the management operations window the soil parameters in Edit Subbasin Input/Edit Soil Parameters disappeared. Please let know if you have any idea and came across this type of situation. Thanks

Hafiz,
If I am following your emails correctly, your default simulation has
the same problem, so when you load that, it'll write the error back in
to your model, thus negating the solution to your problem. When you
write the .MGT file, SWAT is only setting the management file back to
the default values. Every other file (.bsn, .gw, .rte, etc) should
still be set to your calibrated values. Assuming that writing
the .mgt file fixed your error and the model ran fine, I would not
reload the default simulation. Rather, I would manually make your
parameter changes again to the working management file. If you have
several changes to the management file, you can do them one by one to
see where your error is occurring.
In regards to your soil parameter disappearing, I am not familiar with
that problem. Hopefully someone else can shed some light there. Best
of luck!
Regards,
Kyle
