ArcSWAT Users:

I've been getting problems during the HRU overlay after loading/clipping/defining the land-use, slope, and soils layer. The specific text in the error is:

# start

An error has occurred in the application. Record the call stack sequence and the description of the error.

Error Call Stack Sequence
        overlayLUSoilsfunctions.vb Line:1087

Error Number
        -214722065

Description
The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'FullHRU'. Make sure it exists and that its name is spelled correctly.

#end

I did some troubleshooting to pinpoint where the issues are. The land use (USDA crop layer), soils (ArcSWAT provided statsgo) appear to function properly as I created another SWAT project for a portion of the study area and the overlay process worked. If I could understand exactly what the error is referencing (i.e. which input or step that I did wrong), that would great. Thanks.

Hi guys!
Are the layers in the same projection?

Hi Ayisya,

I am also encountering the same problem when overlaying slope, land cover and soil data that you experienced. I would appreciate your help if you solved this problem. Thank you!

Hi Rajat,

I unchecked the option to create feature class during the HRU overlay process, and it solved by issues.

Note the error indicates the "FullHRU" layer. Just uncheck that box and run again. I think there's a model version out there that causes this error. Or it could be hardware related (not enough memory or something).

I have been having this error and I discovered, in my case, it was because while it was overlaying, my mdb was growing in size.  It eventually reached the point of the 2 GB threshold and then it threw this error.  Apparently those MDB's can only be a max of 2 GB.  I broke up my watershed into separate models and it worked fine.

Hello everyone,
I resolved this issued. i did two things.
Ist un-check the box for create HRU feature class. 2nd clipped the land use file and soil data file using basin shapefile. (it decreased the overall size and now swat GDB can hold that much data. The reason was overload of data more than 2 GB as i delineated a big watershed.)
Hoping the problem is solved now.
Thanks!
Arun

Hi Arun,

Can you explain how you process your watershed separately? Did you split your DEM into pieces or did you use the whole DEM but split the Land Use and Soil data?
