Hi,

is it possible to restore a seperat vm from Hyper-V with the VM Restore Option ?

Because it doesn't list any and I can only find Informations about VM Restore with VMWare ESX.

Thx & Greetings

Hi,

Recover VM option can be used to recover a virtual machine from any backup performed by CA ARCserve Central Host-Based VM Backup.CA ARCserve Central Host-Based VM Backup lets you protect virtual machines running on VMware  ESX/ESXi or vCenter Server.

Following section of the Online User Guide explains how you can use CA ARCserve D2D to protect Microsoft Hyper-V environments.

Hi Ajay,

thx for your answer.

I am currently testing ArcServe D2D in a Hyper-V Environment.

Like mentioned in the User Guide, I backup-ed the Hyper-V Host System Drive C (System drive) and D (drive with the vm's).

But the Restore VM Menu is empty, can't choose any VM.

Did I miss something here ?

Thx & Greetings

If I read the User Guide correctly I can only restore the separate VM Files ?

There is no guided restore for hyper-v like in this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89AdnB52zlU ?

Hi,

Thanks for testing CA ARCserve D2D.

The video you posted explains the procedure to restore VMware guest virtual machines backed up using  CA ARCserve Central Host-Based VM Backup from D2D User Interface.

If you want to restore a Hyper-V guest VM from D2D UI, please select the restore method as ‘Browse Recovery Points ‘ , then select the appropriate VM files (".vhd", ".avhd", configuration files) .

Please do refer the following video:

Hope this helps.
