Hi, we just started using d2d Workstation edition and I just did the
first laptop that leaves the premises on the weekend and nights, and
it looks to be attempting incremental backups on the weekend and fail
(not unexpected, as it backs up to a network share), but on Monday, it
did a verify backup.

Is there a way to stop it from doing a verify backup? If all the
laptops do a verify backup on Monday, it's going to saturate my LAN
and some probably wont complete, so they'll have to do it again
Tuesday. This is *very bad* and may just blow the whole thing I
wanted out of the water.

In the log it says that either the last shutdown was unexpected or
that the backup drive was reattached and that's why it forces a verify
backup.

Please help!

Is there any chance that the laptop was not cleanly shutdown? If you
put the laptop to sleep / hibernate or cleanly shutdown the laptop by
using windows shutdown button, it should not trigger a verify backup.

I am confused, is this not normal behavior? I get the same thing on Monday.

Yes, there's definitely a chance that is wasn't shut down properly,
but the drive reconnected scares me. I'll know more on the next
laptop or two.

I hope you're right as I've liked everything else about d2d so far!
