Dear all

For over two years now we have been succesfully printing with Arcol hotend v. 4.2 and I gladly recomend it.
Does anyone knows which heater/resistor I need to buy in order to replace the old one.Namely it had some corrosion and the wire snapped?

Best regards

Luka

Any 4.7 Ohm, axial, 5W wire resistor in a ceramic casing should do, as far as i know.

Regards,
Ante

Dear Ante,

Thanks for fast response, I tried to find it in electronics shops accross Zagreb but they don't have anything like it.
Do you maybe know how to get one that fits v. 4.2 hotend?

Best regards

Luka

I've replaced the resistor with a 30w heater cartridge ages ago. Its diametre is slightly smaller so wrap it in in tinfoil and voila.

highly recommend using the heater cart.

Hi,

Although on the homepage it is not listed, but I do sell every parts
(as replacement) of the hotend.
Just like car manufacturers do:)

Heater cartridge is also a good alternative, although it have a lower
resistance so even higher amperage, so make sure the cables and
connectors are in good condition.
Also check it regularly. (connectors can melt, happened to me already).

Best,
Laszlo

Yeah definitely...it happened to me too, with both my resistor (which is how i found out it needed to be replaced) and with a cart. But it heats up so fast :0
