Hello ArcLight community,
I’m writing from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where we will soon adopt ArchivesSpace. We have been using Archon since its creation here in 2006. In the early 2010s we were closely involved in the initial development of ArchivesSpace and its migration tools from Archon. While we initially chose not to replace our own instances of Archon with ArchivesSpace, we now feel that it is our best option for the future, especially in light of the development of ArcLight as a frontend. We are interested in supporting and engaging with both the ArchivesSpace and ArcLight communities as we move forward. We are beginning our process of planning for migration. This is a big project for us, as we have a large and complex implementation of Archon. I have already posted to the ArchivesSpace list asking for advice on migrating from Archon, but am posting here in the hope of finding institutions that have successfully implemented ArcLight, and to bring our technical team into communication with them. We are at the very beginning of our process but as our project evolves, we would love to talk.
