Presentation

Hello,

Naeg asked me to suscribe to the mailing list and make a little
presentation of myself. First, sorry for my english, it's not my
native language. I have been an archer for three years now and, after
having tried a lot of GNU/Linux and BSD, it's definitively my favorite
distribution.

So when I recieved a Nexus S for christmas, I naturally wanted to port
archlinux on it. To do so, I'm using an ubuntu native version (from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=907760 ), made the
wifi works, and I'm currently compiling base and base-devel on it (for
armv4t).

I'd like to crosscompile everything, and a friend managed to build an
arm toolchain that managed to build the kernel perfectly, but we are
having trouble compiling the packages with it, especially the glibc.

And that's all :) Don't hesitate to ask questions if you have !

In my makepkg.conf :
CFLAGS="-march=armv4t -O2 -pipe"
CXXFLAGS="-march=armv4t -O2 -pipe"
LDFLAGS="-Wl,--hash-style=gnu -Wl,--as-needed"

Hi

Did you look at the build env as i suggested to you? I guess it is faster than on your phone.

It is great that you update the repo, but we actually would like to do that automatically, because while you are updating, other things get outdated again. So the autobuilder has s higher priority. Cant you help with the autobuilder?

use "-march=armv7 -mtune=cortex-a8 -mthumb -O2 -pipe" for CFLAGS and
CXXFLAGS
(see gcc docs for further info)

admiral0 : I know, but naeg told me that archmobile use -march=armv4t so...

No not yet sorry. Also, I don't know anything about lua, so I don't
think I'll be able to help for the autobuilder. However, I code in C,
if it's of any use.
