Hello,

Yesterday I installed Grass 6.4.2 from the Archlinux GIS repos. But it
installed 6.4.2-1, so the release without the Qgis plugin fix (see the
blog of Emiliano on http://archlinuxgis.github.com/blog/2012/02/24/grass-6.4.2-2.html).
The github archlinux/gis/grass shows the upgraded PKGBUILD (pkgrel=2)
though.
Installing Grass through AUR with pkgrel=2 gives indeed the fix for
the Grass plugin in Qgis (if you get Qgis running => but that's
another story...).

Cheers,

Huub

What architecture? x86_64? I will investigate in it and report back.

The version in AUR should work correctly by default, because after updating it I push it to AUR. The binary packages are added after that, so probably I missed something.

Thanks, regards,

Hi Emiliano,

I am on both my boxes on x86_64. After installing grass 6.4.2-2
through AUR (which indeed works correctly and gives a working Grass-
plugin in Qgis). I get this message after a "pacman -Syu":
"warning: grass: local (6.4.2-2) is newer than archlinuxgis
(6.4.2-1)".

Cheers

Hi all,

I can confirm that my repository was not fully updated.

Anyways, I fixed (hopefully forever) the issue.

ATM, in the repo you should be able to find packages for grass-6.4.2
pkgrel 2 for both i686 and x86_64. PKGBUILDs inside the github repo
and AUR should be fine, though.

If you are lucky to have an x86_64 machine, you can get a free package
for gdal-grass. I have some problems in building i686 packages inside
chroot which involves a non-standard repo (which is [archlinuxgis]). I
will investigate before continuing in the development of GRASS and
gdal-grass PKGBUILD.

Thanks, regards,
