Dear archivists, records professionals, researchers, and friends of archives around the world,
After many years, I am very happy to share that Archives World Map is back with its third version.
This new release is a return to the original spirit of the project. After experimenting with a more social platform in the past, I decided to bring the focus back to what matters most: building, together, a collaborative map of archival institutions across the world.
Archives World Map 3.0 is now live and fully working at: https://archivesmap.org
The project remains free and open to everyone who wants to help make archival institutions more visible, easier to find, and better represented on a global map.
You are warmly invited to participate:
add institutions that are not yet on the map
review existing entries
improve information whenever needed
help expand coverage in your region, country, or area of expertise
Even small contributions can make a real difference. By adding and revising institutions, we can collectively build a more useful and representative resource for archivists, researchers, students, and the public.
Please also help spread the word by sharing this message with colleagues, professional networks, and institutions that may be interested in contributing.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the project over the years. I hope you will visit the new version and help this collaborative map continue to grow.
With best regards,
Ricardo Sodré Andrade
