Hello everyone,

I am trying to install Archivematica on Ubuntu 22.04, both on a native system and in a virtual machine using Oracle VirtualBox, also running Ubuntu 22.04.

I followed the installation tutorial, but I am facing issues during the `vagrant up` step. Initially, I encountered a problem related to a static IP address, which I believe I corrected by setting it within the valid range in the Vagrantfile. However, now I am facing the following error when trying to run `vagrant up` in the virtual machine:

```
There was an error while executing 'VBoxManage', a CLI used by Vagrant
for controlling VirtualBox. The command and stderr is shown below.
Command: ["startvm", "c8b68f19-8ec5-4b91-a200-04876a34a27a", "--type", "headless"]
Stderr: VBoxManage: error: VT-x is not available (VERR_VMX_NO_VMX)
VBoxManage: error: Details: code NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005), component ConsoleWrap, interface IConsole
```

From what I understand, this error is related to VT-x virtualization, which the VM does not seem to recognize.

I have already checked my system's BIOS/UEFI and enabled the virtualization technology (VT-x/AMD-V), but the error persists.

Could someone guide me on what else I can try to resolve this issue? Is there any additional Vagrant configuration that needs to be done? A step-by-step guide on what needs to be configured manually? Also, is it necessary to use a VirtualBox like Oracle's, which I am currently using?

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Felipe

Hi Felipe,

Our server is also ubuntu 22.04 LTS, but it is a virtual server on a VMWare.  The automated install option didn’t work for us either.  So we followed the manual install instructions here: (https://www.archivematica.org/en/docs/archivematica-1.16/admin-manual/installation-setup/installation/install-ubuntu/#install-pkg-ubuntu)

This worked fine for us.

I hope this helps.  Let me know if you have questions.  Good luck!

Servidor FCJA - AnyDesk 03_09_2024 21_28_57.pngServidor FCJA - AnyDesk 03_09_2024 21_42_49.pngHello,

I have configured my server manually following the installation instructions, and I’ve set the permissions for the directories accordingly. However, I am currently facing an issue when attempting to transfer files using Archivematica. I specified the directory in the transfer source within the Storage Service, but I’m unable to complete the transfer of a PDF file and a text file.

Attached are screenshots of my current configuration. Could you please advise if there are any additional settings or steps that I may have missed?

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Best regards,
Felipe

Hi Felipe,

Easy fix for this- Archivematica can only pick up transfer material that is in folders. Put them in a directory and then you can choose the directory as your transfer.

Cheers,
