AIPScan and Auditmatica

Hello,

We are interested in exploring AIPScan and Auditmatica to improve reporting and monitoring of our instances. 

Before we start testing, may I know what the status and plans for each project are? We are running Archivematica 1.16 on Ubuntu 22.

Hi Julie,

I apologise for missing this message over the summer while I was away! Did you decide to test either AIPscan or Auditmatica in the end? Are you still considering it?

These are tools we have developed over the last five years to solve issues of individual customers and we continue to use them on an individual basis. In that process we have shared the code, but we do not support the tools with regular releases or a governance structure at this time like we do with Archivematica. Part of that is internal resourcing and a lack of contributor and user community. However, we continue to support the use of them in a few select customer environments so you will see commits on an irregular basis. For example, you'll see with AIPscan there have been some commits in the last month.

You are welcome to test them and we would encourage it, though your mileage may vary on the use. We would love to hear how you go, what works and what didn't. While we can't promise any fixes, as the community grows around some of our smaller tools like AIPscan and Auditmatica, the more we can review their maintenance and usefulness as open source projects. We would really value any input you have. I hope you are able to test them and let us and the community know what you think! If you have any other questions, please let me know.
