Using Archivematica Version 1.13.2 + Storage Service  Version: 0.19.0 on a CentOS 7.9.2009 virtual server:

For weeks now, we have been having issues ingesting. Initially, it was a memory issue, so I increased the instance we were using with AWS and that error has gone away. Now, I keep running into
Job Scan for viruses in directories     Failed
no matter what collection I try to ingest. I noticed that clamd@scan was trying to launch clamd.ctl in /var/run/clamav/clamd.ctl (per clientConfig.conf in /etc/archivematica), but the /var/run/clamav directory didn't even exist. But even after creating that directory and making sure the owner was clamscan, I got that error. After restarting all archivematica services, however, I did get a little further, but then I got a similar error:
Job Scan for viruses in submission documentation     Failed
What's aggravating is that I can manually run clamscan against the folders in question and it always comes up with 0 files infected, so it makes me wonder if there is an earlier process that is causing the issue. Maybe gearmand? But how can I keep it from failing? I'm beating my head against a table trying to figure this out so any ideas or suggestions are much appreciated. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Jamen

Hej Jamen,

We got exactly the same error but in our testing of version 1.15 .

We could solve it using this instruction: https://groups.google.com/g/archivematica/c/MtijE-tb9-U might that also work for you?

Best,
Karin

Thanks for the suggestion Karin. Unfortunately, virus scanning is continuing to fail, no matter how large or small the collection may be. Not sure what else to try.

Keeping fingers crossed for someone else having suggestions for you since changing those variables worked for us!
