Hello!

I started seeing an issue with the contents of a Transfer Source location no longer appearing in the Transfer "Browse" menu of the Archivematica dashboard. (The directory *itself* still appears as an option, but none of its contents appear when selected). That suggested a permissions error to me, but the complication is that the transfer source is a desktop RAID volume attached to a Mac, which is then accessed as an ssh server by the Storage Service (configured as a Pipeline Local Filesystem Space - screenshot attached). When I went to try checking the permissions, I found I couldn't find the transfer source mounted on the Storage Service filesystem at all.

I did not set up this Space originally, so I am a bit unclear on how Archivematica is making/managing the SSH connection - I do not see the Path (or Staging Path) directory listed for the Space anywhere in the Storage Service filesystem, and the "/Volumes/-" prefix certainly suggests that's the MacOS path for the remote filesystem, anyway. But *should* those be the Storage Service filesystem paths/mount points, created manually? (Also to be clear, my understanding is this configuration worked until recently, so I have no idea why those directories might have disappeared). Should the absolute Path be for the remote RAID, as-is, and the Staging Path on the Storage Service filesystem? Are there more details/configuration settings for the SSH connection elsewhere in the pipeline that I should check? Is it a matter of checking the permissions on the RAID itself, not the Storage Service filesystem at all?

Thank you for any/all suggestions or guidance!

Hi Ethan,

I haven't had time to test or look into this at all, but you may want to check out the contents of /etc/nfs.conf or a similar file responsible for setting parameters regarding mounting the drive to the device. I don't know much about this personally but there may be something there worth investigating. I hope this leads you down a fruitful path!
