Announcement: Upcoming blanket closure of older internal issues

Hello Archivematica community,

As part of improving the contribution process, we are working towards having an Issues repo that is up-to-date, relevant, and that reflects work that we or the community can do. In order to do this, we are revisiting triaging issues more regularly. While we plan to work through them over the next few months, the scale of the Issues repo has led us to prepare for a blanket closure of internal issues over two years old. These issues have been labelled issue-closure-2025. 

Please note that at this time we are only looking to close issues opened by current or previous Artefactual staff. All externally reported issues more than two years old are unlabelled and will remain open at this time.

These issues will remain open for comment until Friday, August 22, 2025. They will be closed on this date. 

You can still search for these issues by searching for the label issue-closure-2025 in closed issues. You can always reopen an issue after it is closed; full details on that process will be sent with the final closure announcement.
