Debug LDAP Authentication

Is there a way to debug the LDAP authentication? From what I am seeing is the groups exist in LDAP, but I can't get the IS_STAFF and IS_SUPERUSER to work, so I am trying to figure out what all the groups Archivematica is seeing? Is there also a maximum on the number of groups it can handle? As we return a lot of groups. For example I am at 234 groups being returned for LDAP.
