Having some issues with identifiers

Good afternoon.  I am in the process of getting Archivematica as part of our processes here and I am getting stuck with adding custom identifiers.  I took a look over the documentation and added the identifiers.json file into the metadata folder alongside the metadata.csv file.

From there I ran the process and everything outside of the identifiers are appearing in the final AIP.  I am looking for help to see if I am formatting it incorrectly or am I missing something.  Here is a shortened example

[
{
        "file": "objects/MARAC hotel.png",
        "identifiers": [
            {
                "identifier": "P0004",
                "identifierType": "internal"
            }
        ]
    },
{
        "file": "objects/PTO check.txt",
        "identifiers": [
            {
                "identifier": "P0005",
                "identifierType": "internal"
            }
        ]
    }
]

Thank you in advance.

Have a bit of an update on this.  After going over the documentation it appears that I was using the standard format which after reading the documentation does not process the metadata folder.  I changed this to a ZIP file which should have processed the information only to find out that both the metadata.csv and the identifiers.json are not being included in the METS file.

I am a bit stumped at this point since according to all the documentation on the website this should be working,  I even changed the folder structure to include all of the objects in a objects sub folder since I think the example given on the website does not match its intended use case.  If anyone has been able to get this working if you can send me a sample of what you are doing so that I can compare my payload with yours that would be of great help.

Sorry for the spamming of updates but made some headway on this.  I think the issue is that if you were using the metadata folder to have Amatica to automatically import the files, it does not work.  What you would need to do is manually add it once you reach the ingest phase.  Click on the pencil icon on the top of the header (before finalizing the normalization) and then adding the files to that area to get the desired results for the metadata.

The bad news is that does not work for identifiers.json.

I know at this point I could just use dc.identifier and call it a day and then update the METS to include the objectidentier section manually but I rather not if I can avoid it.  Any suggestions would be great.

Hi Patrick,

I don't think you should have to add the metadata during ingest, it should work the same from a pre-structured transfer. Can you please post the what the folder structure of your transfer looks like, showing us where the files are placed? A copy of the METS file might be helpful also (feel free to send that to me off the list if you're more comfortable with that)

Cheers,

I think I see the problem- can you please retry using "metadata" (small case m) instead of "Metadata" (large case M) as the name of the metadata folder?

Sorry for the delay in the reply, I had to locate a pillow to yell into.  Looks like that did the trick and was able to confirm in the METS that both the metadata and the identifiers are being added as intended.  Thank you for your help, I am off to see if I can get the ArchivesSpace and Hyku integrations to work for my institutions.
