Optimizing Atom 2.9

Hi,

I have a VM running Atom 2.9 and I'm seeing a problem when I load more
than a certain number of files (~450 PDF files) into a single series, it
takes a long time to open that series and see the documents inside it.

I couldn't find documentation in how to optimize settings for Atom. Is
there any guide on where to look (Logs? Profiling tools? Other?) and
where to change settings?

My install is relatively small with about 800 PDF files (and about 6000
to loaded yet). Running in an Ubuntu 24.04 VM with 2CPUs, 6GB RAM, 8GB
of swap space and 1TB of disk space.
