We are running Archivematica 1.17.0 and Storage Service 0.23.0 and using ArchivesSpace v. 3.4.1 (hosted by Atlas Systems).

We've been troubleshooting integrating these systems with the help of Atlas Systems and we're confident that our ArchivesSpace DIP upload configuration is correct. Requests to authenticate and requests to search are successful (a 200 response from the API). The issue is that we're now getting 404 errors to access specific information from ArchivesSpace:

"GET /repositories/2/resources/935/tree?page=1 HTTP/1.1" 404 408 "-" "python-requests/2.32.3"
The representative that I spoke to at Atlas suggested that it might be:

  1. A compatibility issue between ArchivesSpace 3.4.1 and the latest versions of Archivematica and Archivematica Storage Service, or;
  2. An issue that could be resolved by reinstating the ArchivesSpace tree endpoint, which was removed from ArchivesSpace in version 3.2.0.

Archivematica's documented 483 issue produces the same error message we receive, "Unable to access ArchivesSpace; check dashboard logs!"

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or advice on resolving this!

This is a "me too" on this issue.

We recently installed ArchivesSpace v3.5.1 (self hosted) and Archivematica 1.17.0 (self hosted), and Storage Service 0.23.0, and when our archivists search ArchiveSpace in the Appraisal tab, they also received the "Unable to access ArchivesSpace; check dashboard logs" error.

I ran a packet capture and saw very similar to what Ellen described:
POST /users/admin/login HTTP/1.1  (application/x-www-form-urlencoded)
-->HTTP/1.1 200 OK , JSON (application/json)
GET /repositories/2/search?page=1&page_size=30&q=primary_type%3Aresource HTTP/1.1
-->HTTP/1.1 200 OK , JSON (application/json)
GET /repositories/2/resources/3/tree?page=1 HTTP/1.1
-->HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found , JSON (application/json)

Has anyone found a solution to this yet?

Hi Fred, thanks for chiming in! I reached out to Artefactual about this issue and was advised to create an issue ticket on GitHub, so I wanted to give you (and others) the link to that to monitor - https://github.com/archivematica/Issues/issues/1739
