To celebrate National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day
(Awareness Day) 2014, the national launch event will be hosted as a
plenary session in conjunction with the National Council for
Behavioral Health's annual conference, at the Gaylord National Resort
and Convention Center in Washington, DC.

Chiara De Blasio is the honorary chair and will receive the Awareness
Day Recognition Award from HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Chiara's
parents, Chirlane McCray and New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio, will
share comments.

This year the national focus for Awareness Day is on the unique needs
of young adults with mental illness and substance use disorders in the
four life domains of housing, education, health care access, and
employment as well as the importance of peer support.
