Hello everyone with volunteers!

It is important that every team keeps track of exactly which volunteers do and do not show up to their shifts. This way we can start to establish a database of reliable and returning volunteers, so that we may offer them juicy bonuses in the future, such as early access to tickets (possibly).

Can EVERYONE IN CHARGE OF LOOKING AFTER VOLUNTEERS please respond to this thread to let me know if you already have a system in place to manage your team.

If you do not have a system in place then please create one or, ask me to make one for you.

Everyone please include the following star rating in your system;

0 stars = either did not show up or disruptive enough to not want them back
1 star = adequate, tolerable, however not amazing
2 stars = loved having them on the team, did the job well and would encourage them to come back
3 stars = This person went above and beyond and deserve recognition. Maybe would even recommend them for management in future.

That's all your system really needs. Did the person show up, and how did they preform. You just need a way of recording it.

Any questions or suggestions?

Gate will be giving shift managers a form to fill out at the end of their shift so we can collect feedback about Gate volunteers. Love the star rating, will incorporate that!
Does that work?

Cheers,

Urs and I talk to current shift managers and note down who we/they thought was Awesome and put gold stars on their names. Will let shift managers know about your stars!
I also update the roster as we went so I remember who was where.
We also have an Important Book that we write things in, communicating across shifts and all that.

is that what you mean?

Thank you Gate and Depot - that is perfect.

Rangers, MPW, Greeters, Parking and Site Office I'm still waiting for a response from you!

A simple yes I have a plan, or no I would like you to make me one will suffice. Can facilitators please prompt these team leads?

Hi Holly, I responded straight away but as a reply to the digest email so it went to kiwiburnexcomlive gmail address, apologies.

At Site Office, we will be ticking off people as they arrive for shifts, or making notes against the people who no showed, need to be moved to another shift, coming late etc.
We will advise those on Manager shifts to observe volunteers and rate them on the online version of the roster, to pass this info on to you at the end of the burn.

Thanks!
Hussy

Hi Holly

MOOP ARMY volunteers will firstly check in on site at The Depot, Depot team will point them in the direction of my camp (Camp Carbon 14) to come and say hello and to receive further briefing about the Leave No Trace plan of attack for Exodus day and beyond. Will keep record of how the MOOP ARMY volunteers did using this 3 star rating system, this information will be noted in the back of the MOOP Army's campaign diary. Hamish LNT

Cc’ing volunteer emails so this msg goes to the right place. FYI Hamish, click through the hyperlink for the topic to reply in the group thread (I made the same mistake!). Hussy x
