Great! Good stuff Team.

I have some notes for your team that might be helpful:
  • I've been asking all the Leads under Services if they would like to participate a few time with no response except one to say that they feel like they're not important enough in their role to present themselve to the community and also that because they haven't done their role on-site yet, just the pre-event work, they feel like they can't write about it.
I've explained this isn't the case at all. The Volunteers who have participated so far are only because they're trying to lead the way to kick it off and get the ball rolling. That EVERY role and Volunteer in Kiwiburn is important and appreciated to keep the wheels turning. And one of the purposes of this is to encourage community members to volunteer on any level and showing the scope of volunteering, not just the Committee roles is what we want them to see.
I thought this feedback might help in how we consider approaching everyone. I'd love to see the department leads and returning on-site shift volunteers participate. It is daunting too though.

  • Great doc for dealing with media. Thanks for attending Shelley. For the rest of the team - in a crisis situation/emergency, I want Event Management to be approachable and Comms and EM to keep in good communication on-site about what information (or more likely, limited information) and facts are correct.
Cheers, Jaz

thanks jaz, is your first bullet point referring to the current interview series by the efp team? if so, yes, every role is important to showcase and every person who isn't too shy to share a little about themselves. helps demystify what is involved, and encourages others to volunteer :-)

the crisis comms doc is an updated version of the 2017 version. am also going to start a document about process on the paddock in crisis so we all know what should be happening, and we will all have input. what do you mean by "Event Management to be approachable"?
