As I recall the Depot upgrade hinged on ticket sales, but can someone from Ops fill us in please?

Further updates from Paul:

We’ve bit the bullet and purchased a caravan, we’ve looked at doing it for years and KB just provided the final impetus.  As its smaller than the ones we have hired before we would still ideally like to use the old depot as our first aid station if possible.

I note that the Depot rebuild is budgeted ($2500) for the breaking even or reaching our cap budgets, and it looks like this will happen based on the first week of ticket sales - however do we have any idea when this call will be made?

While I was at it, I asked about the additional medic that was discussed at Summit. Here's his response:

 

Re the additional medic we have found someone, unfortunately the going rate for 5 days has dramatically increased over the last few years and we’ll have to charge an extra $1500 to cover him.  He is an ex St john Paramedic and has been to KB before as one of my fire fighters so has a good idea what it’s all about.

 

Initial indicative pricing for KB 2016 is along the lines of;

Standard coverage (four pers) $4600

Additional medic $1500

Total exclusive $6100

Total gst inclusive $7015.00

I’ll confirm with Kirsty once she’s home this evening (she’s currently upskilling to EMT level)

Head of security stays at $500.

I looked in the  budget and we've allowed $7500 to cover medics so that's all good.

 

Re Fire fighting coverage we will be bringing with us the following items;

Cfmoto UTV (side by side) with 200 litre slip on

Trailer with 500 litre slip on and two Scotty packs

These items will be onsite for the duration (only the UTV could be called away for a major fire)

I have to be honest and say I don't know what all this means, but I presume Ops will.  ;-)  He did also mention that all forecasts are saying it'll be a very dry summer, so the burning art proposals may only be theoretical this year.  Again we'll just have to wait and see.

Good to hear that the Medic quote fits the budget.

Just a quick word of caution regarding the budget (generally, not specifically about the Depot): we just don't know how much of the early demand is actual growth, and how much is people buying earlier than usual because of the population cap. It's a new situation for us so we need to be careful with any assumptions and with authorising extra spending based on growth. I agree that early sales look great but let's be very sure yeah?
