HI Bruce,

Hope you are doing well.

Attached is a copy of the invoice that I received in the weekend, from
Rangitikei District Council, relating to the fees associated with the
processing of the resource consent.

I think that you mentioned that someone might be onto the task of
trying to get this invoice cancelled?

If the Council refuses to cancel the invoice, we should be able to get
a discount on the amount invoiced because the Council took more than
the 20 statutory days to process the application (this was partly
because the consultant planner processing the application got sick for
a couple of days).

If we lodge an objection to the invoice, we MUST (under the Resource
Management Act 1991) to do this within 10 working days of the consent
being issued, which is PRIOR TO TOMORROW. I am happy to send an
objection e-mail through if you want me to – it can be relatively
short and straight-forward?

Also Curt and I met for a lunch on Friday, to celebrate the fact that
the resource consent has been issued. He has confirmed that he’s
more-than-happy to continue to help Kiwiburn, in particular associated
with the requirements of condition K. Curt has said:
“Yes I can assist with the Management Plan, we have done enough but it
would be good to sit down with the organising committee over a drink or
lunch to discuss how the site is intended to be run - better to write to
the plan to match the operation thansay things that are not practical.”

I’ll wait to hear what you think?

Cheers,
Chanelle

Hi Chanelle,
Hmm, I don't know much about what's supposed to be happening with the waiving of the resource consent fees.  Bruce is in Europe and on a 12 hour time difference; he was on line about an hour ago, but I think he is probably in bed now and won't hear from him until evening tonight.  I've cc'd Paul who might know more about this?

Lovely news about Curt.  Since there are very few committee members based in Auckland at this time, I suspect the best way for us to all be together will be at the festival this year where we could sit with Curt and have a good discussion.  But that may be too late for the documentation we need to provide in December??

Is Curt based in Auckland?

I could potentially meet up with him at some stage if that helps?

Prior to tomorrow! Goodness. Unless Paul has some information, it would be pretty fantastic if you could email an objection Chanelle - you are our superstar!!

Paul has just spoken to Steve at the council and he is looking into the invoice now. It would appear the deadline of tomorrow is to object to the terms and conditions of the consent and not the fee itself

Awesome Kirsty.  Thanks for the update!

Ps.  Can someone forward to chanelle?  I can't do it from my phone.

Hi Kathy

Paul is dealing with this. He needs to talk to Steve who has only just come back to work today after being away for 6 weeks. Steve is not available today until after 4pm so Paul will talk to him then.

Roping Chanelle into the conversation....   Chanelle, looks like we are a-o-k.   Paul is working on getting the fee waived.  See his note below.

Cheers,
Kathy

Hi Chanelle,

RE: Curt-- thanks for facilitating that, fantastic news.  It would indeed be good to sit down and have a talk about the actual way we are thinking of running things.  The problem as always is that we run things as a committee and there are a limited number of us in Auckland.

Maybe some kind of video conference, skype, google hangout, with Curt and 2 or 3 of us who are most involved with planning would work?
