Something that I have thought about for some time-
Nashville is a center for Health Facility Design. This chapter of AFH
could be quite unique in becoming a chapter that provides and
coordinates health care design for the developing world. There is a
wealth of architectural and engineering in group, and I am sure that
some work with firms that do healthcare design. Why not bring some of
that expertise to the developing world?
I propose that we consider becoming a member of the Middle Tennessee
Global Health Outreach Database:
http://www.mc.vanderbilt.edu/medschool/globalhealth/org_network_welcome.php
which is a project of the Vanderbilt Institute of Global Health:

This would allow us to serve the design needs of local organizations
in developing countries. I have some experience in that area and
would help facilitate coordination. If anyone wants to attend, the
institute will have a global health forum on 2/27 at Vanderbilt.
