Thanks to all for what I think was a very successful first meetup.  Mike Jones has put up the notes/minutes he took at the meeting here: http://peg.gd/2mS and has also written up his thoughts in a blog post here: http://bit.ly/KLnweq - check it out if you missed the meeting or want a recap.

So, moving forward, we need to pick a date and a topic or topics for the next meetup.  If you've got something you'd like to talk about, or something you'd like to hear about, speak up now, and we can start scheduling.

Cheers,
-Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

Sorry I missed the first meeting, would have loved to be there.

I've got a few topics that I would like discussed (if any of them are out of scope or not applicable for this forum then please state so).

1) Best practises for providing client-facing,real-time reporting in a write-heavy environment
2) A horses-for-courses analysis of different DB architectures (ie NoSql vs RDBMS)
3) Some real-life stories of implementing scalable vendor-specific systems (ie Redis, Cassandra, Riak. MySql etc)
4) When to use queues (like Beanstalk) and if possible some real-world stats on how it affected overall systems

Thanks for the initiative, hoping to see some great discussions in the future!
