Happy spring/autumn (and in-betweens) everyone,
First, sorry for the google group silence. These days most of the interactions are happening on slack/email and or zoom calls.
We (as in "the community-practitioners-developers-users") would love to have a community gathering to discuss the next release cycle with you all.The core idea is to have an open conversation about some WIP features, improvements, bug fixes and documentation, do a short reminder of how a release cycle works in Archipelago, specially for those new to how we bake bread, but MOST IMPORTANTLY: we really want to hear from your feature needs/pain points and secret (plans) and wishes.
Community, ideas and implementations have been steadily growing (organically & in a sustainable way) and also many already established repository gardens have been blooming (full color) too. We believe there is still time to align efforts, bring all those brains and seasonal experiences together and (try to) incorporate any missing and urgent needs into 1.7.0 and 2.1.0. (yet again a dual release)
We would be delighted to hear more from your own workflows and state-of-things too. Here is a poll. https://calendly.com/d/cx3k-68c-kzr/archipelago-community-meeting-1-7-0-2-1-0-pre-releaseWe truly tried to be respectful of each one's different time zones and targeted noon EST times; that way Pacific coast friends (and beyond) do not need to skip their early morning routine and over-the-Atlantic friends are not forced to miss (completely) a well deserved rest after a long day of metadata mangling. Of course: if you can't make it, but still have urgent needs, please reach out and we can share a semi-structured way of expressing your must-haves with everyone else.
Write us/reply to this message if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
Diego & Allison / Archipelago Team @ METRO
