[Archetypes-users] Attribute error when viewing history of extended schema

I have the Working Copy add-on installed in Plone 3.3. I have added a custom
field to the ATDocument type using archetypes schemaextender. When I check
out content and make a change, the view changes link /@@iterate_diff throws
an attribute error looking for my custom field. The field key is None

I have followed this example verbatim:

Is there something else I need to add beyond the doc to make this work? Why
would my field show up when I edit a document but not be in the list of
fields when I try to view changes of a checked out piece of content?

Maybe this is a big in the iterate product?
I'm hoping some knows a way to ensure that a field added by extension is
always there in the schemata.

To be more specific, It's not that the field doesn't show up, it's that there
is no default 'get' method. It's reference field. Is there a way to add a
default getter method for the new field?
