Hi folks,
After the last developer meet, I chatted with a couple folks about Kubernetes - both in terms of versionable infrastructure, and also how it could simplify coordination of multiple deployments, multitenancy, and so forth.
We thought it would be good to take some of that forward as a community-supportable, properly-polished workflow - that will involve tidying the proof-of-concept Arches Kubernetes flow used at F&T, linking up with the Docker enhancements that the folks at Farallon are doing, and addressing config questions (default settings for back-up, GDPR features, scaling, storage, liveness/healthchecks, Arches-specific monitoring, etc.)
The focus will be specifically technical, but keen to keep anyone who is even curious in the loop - if you would be keen to join, can you please reply, and we will try to coordinate time for a session? The next few weeks for us are pretty hectic, with Easter in the middle, and I expect similarly for others, but keen to get date-picking started now - perhaps early May, where hopefully people's calendars still have plenty of space?
Even though it's a starting point, I would like this to be hands on, so I think leaving 2-3h would be good. Ideally, we could try and break things to see what falls over - that's always the fun bit of infrastructure!
All the best,
Phil
