Dear Andrew,

Your mock ups are, as usual, extremely reserved and melancholy. It only occurs to me now that you might struggle in-between the real and the ideal. The real world is always messy, on the go and in need of reassurance. The ideal is the clean, serene and always transcendental. 

Now, where do we go from here and 10 days from now? From your mock ups, your project wants to express a sense of "readability" where the underground locomotion is in sync with the 2 existing city grids and the figure of the open space + urban fabric above ground. Your architectural solution is a proposed "white-out": improved underground chaos to a state of subliminal verticality (the bridges to the escalators leading down to the platforms) and pure "space" at the park level and the entering concourse.

Your task will have to be conveying this sense of the SOUND OF SILENCE in Wynyard Station and Park architecturally. It might be austere but need not be solemn. Try to express your own sensitivity, for this is the last call and you must do your best.
