Hey all,

for exp 3 ive modeled the gran canyon (lived in arizona for a year and saw the gran canyon many times) now im just wondering if thats ok for my choice? i ran through my first idea to rikke my tutor on the last day but decided to change it because the model didnt look up to scratch or as professional as my new one does, so firstly is that ok for my environment?

secondly are we allowed to alter the environment to suit the dinning table and the two headquarters or do we have to model around the environment?
if you could help me out with that, i would greatly appreciate it!

peace!

Hi,

The brief calls for you to create a valley that is inspired by one from the country of your origin; so the question here is ... could you consider a country that you were not born in the country of your origin?

(I'm guessing that you weren't born in the US).

I think it would be easy to argue that the US is the country of your origin if your parents were American. Or your grandparents, or great grand parents. I'd say it's a bit hard to argue that the US is your country of origin if you'd only lived there for a year ... so unless you can come up with a strong argument I'd go back to the first environment (I'm sure your original environment will benefit from your extra experience).

Regarding altering the environment to suit the architecture and furnishings ... yes absolutely, but think of it as a negotiation between the different elements.

Cheers

Dear Russell et al.,

Chicago, IL USA is not the city, country of my origin, I just spent most of my life there. Will I get points taken off if I submit my landscape as Chicago? Should I change my landscape to Panay, Visayas, Philippines. There's a Cordeilleiras there that spans the island.

Actually I would rather not change location now. Just making sure that I wouldn’t get penalized for using Chicago skyscrapers as my mountains.

Just a thought, I doubt your tutor will check your birth certificate or look too deep into to your family tree.
