Hi All,

I'll sticky this thread. Place any cool tips in here.

I'll start with an important one ...

For the SketchUp export process to work it is critical to have your
CryENGINE3 in the same place as I show on the Tutorial (C:\Program
Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Crytek\).

Cheers

Hey Guys,
Russel had helped me today and have been trying to figure out a
solution to when you have trouble importing SketchUp models to Crysis,
where the material/colour doesn't come through, or object not
appearing. In most cases, there are 2 possible solutions:

1. Component names need to be simple alphabetical or numeric.
Sometimes the component name changes automatically if you have made it
unique and then altered it.
2. If you have many layers of components, meaning components inside
components, EXPLODE them ALL! Explode all components and just have one
at the very end including every part of your model. For this, make
sure you save the original (component-net) version, so when you come
back to work on it, it will be much easier.

Hope it helps

Hey Everyone with importation issues,

I have been having some problems with importing models, as you can
see. But it is working at the moment and just a tip for you all out
there:
Sometimes if your model simply doesn't want to go into your terrain
and you are doing things correctly.... you can try creating a brand
new terrain in Crysis and exporting your models into that objects
folder from SketchUp. If you can export it there, you can import/use
it from your actual terrain file. Meaning if you got that in any
objects folder it should carry through to any cryengine file. At least
it is working for me.

Good luck

Hi!

I was always wondering how to see your whole character in CryEngine. I recently figured out that you just have to press F1 on your keyboard to change the view.
I thought it would help when taking images of the environment and your character interacting with it and the buildings/bridge.
