Minecraft LAN world: Darnassus maps.

For those who are interested:

This is the Minecraft creative world- as seen by UnMined.

Each block is rep'd by 4x4 pixels.

 

I'm using Gmail to reply so I can link to the file, It's almost 9meg.

 

This .jpg shows the currently generated state of the map. 

 

I'd like to make something big-ish over the bay to the north,

and/or near the sheer cliffs to the south-west. (over the water)

 

If you zoom in, you'll see the structures you've created, and

of course, if you venture out, the world will just keep expanding.

 

I'll annotate this with pictures later, for those not participating,
but still interested.

I think everything is fare game, though I like the idea of building something big.

An update on the minecraft server:

• The system was put together and centos was installed. I might switch to ubuntu server..
• I need to do some research on configuring the minecraft server. I downloaded it and it looks like it runs fine.
• Do we want to continue the Creative Mode Darnassus map, or start a new Survival map? Personally I find working in the creative map less rewarding. I need to do some research on the possibilities, but would anyone be interested in / is it possible to have a survival server but with some limited cheats enabled (limited flying, resource rich, stronger tools...)?

I'd actually prefer a survival map myself. Finding the materials to build what you envision is half the fun. It also makes it more fun for PvP, Mob spawners, farms, etc. etc. We could always convert the Darnassus map, or just build a new one.

If we did convert it, I'd like to get some building in pre-conversion.

Like I said, I got something big-ish in mind.  I'm in at oddish times, so maybe I can

get it into the hosted world before then.
