Hi all, I'm trying to make wooden laser cut salad tongs - any suggestions on wood or design? It looks like beeswax/food-safe mineral oil will be a food-safe conditioner (butchers block conditioner).

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Pretty much anything domestic hardwood is fine to be foodsafe. Certain exotics may have natural oils that are irritating so certain people. Cedar may be one to avoid.

Butcher block conditioner is just re-labeled mineral oil. Any good brand is safe to use. All major wood finishes are foodsafe once properly dried and cured.  Waxes slowly come off with use and need to be reapplied often, but again, so would the oil when washed.
