I have a large yard and mowing season will be here before you know it.  I am interested in setting up a differential GPS system (Missouri has a free public station in north county to use as a reference) and use ardupilot rover (or something similar) to guide my existing mower around my lawn.  Anyone with experience with Ardupilot?  I am a little lost in all the details.  Anyone interested in something similar?

What kind of microcontroller do you plan to use?  Ardupilot has become quite bloated over the years and no longer fits in the Arduino (except maybe the Arduino nano 33 IOT which has more memory).

If you post to the St. Louis Robot Club (http://robomo.club/) discourse forum, I know there is one member that has made several robot lawn mowers.

Not sure what controller.  Using ardupilot seems to make the software side much easier but I am open to other options.  I do a bit of software but more hacking up others code than writing from scratch so not looking to do much code.  One of the things I am struggling with is how the various receivers, controllers, etc connect to one another.  Haven't done any RC stuff either so don't have that background.  The motor controls and hardware shouldn't be a problem for me.
