Dear Nela,
TIMELINE CHART – 2ND EDITION
I fully concur with Chalay. Your appointment on the Timeline chart, was decided upon at the ACAE meeting, as a response to my suggestion that the Timeline in its existing format, is poorly presented and needs a total re-look, both in concept and content. As I recollect, the appointment was subsequently confirmed at the ARCASIA Council Meeting.
However, a word of caution. It is my understanding that the Timeline is to be a concise summary of the architectural heritage, (both historical and current) of all ARCASIA nations showing at a glance, their architectural evolution. I do think we need to draw a distinction between the ARCASIA Heritage Publication, and the Timeline. As such, I really cannot see this as a coffee table publication running into 150 pages as you mentioned. As such a rethink of the format will be necessary.
Thanking you, with warm regards.

Hi Bernard!
I am Yolly Reyes, the ACAE Chairman during the conceptual period of the Arcasia Timeline Chart (ATC). Together with our current Arcasia Chairman George Kunihiro and Dean Milton Tan (Singapore), we conceived and formulated the ATC.
The ATC was not created to be a coffee table book. It is a CHART. It was designed to have a quick look at the historical / architectural structures of each Arcasia member country at ‘a glance’. The next step that was agreed after the Chart is to come up with a book (maybe a coffee table book) that will focus on the details of some of the (more important) structures in the ATC.
My comment on the ATC is that the photos became very small especially for countries with many entries. The second edition should definitely be an improvement of the first.
Best regards, Yolly
