If you are in Home, Professional, or Office Mode, you see the EPSON Scan settings window. For instructions on using Home or Professional Mode, see Selecting Basic Settings. To use Office Mode, see Scanning Using the Automatic Document Feeder for instructions.

If the Open image folder after scanning checkbox is selected in the File Save Settings window, Windows Explorer or the Macintosh Finder automatically opens to the folder where the scanned image was saved.

I updated from Legacy to the latest version (10.58.8) and now my once (pretty) reliable Epson ES-580W does not Scan to Evernote. It gives me the error message that I need to download the Evernote app, which is already installed. So I uninstalled and reinstalled both programs with the same result. As a workaround, I tried putting my scans in a sync folder. On both occasions it told me the files had downloaded to EN, but I couldn't find them, so I had to do it again before they finally showed up. And when they did show up, they did as multiple files that I had to merge in EN, which becomes pretty tedious. (Is there any solution to this issue too by the way?)

Updated both Epson ScanSmart and Evernote to current versions and the relationship is indeed broken. The custom actions screen no longer offers Evernote as an option. Tests with send to Dropbox and saving to a local file did work.

Then open the "Save as" dialogue, give the new file a good name, which will as well serve as title of the new note. Save the completed file into an import folder that is connected to the notebook where you want it to go.

Like those above, I struggled when I could no longer "scan to Evernote" from my Epson scanner. I looked and looked for a solution until I gave in and scanned to a PDF and then moved the PDF file to the Evernote folder of choice.

After doing this process for what seemed like an eternity, I decided today to see if a solution had been developed. I ran across this discussion and tried the suggestion of the import by todd1611. I am happy with how it works and grateful that I don't have to go through a bunch of manual steps just to get a file to Evernote.

Epson Scan 2 is an incredibly welcoming upgrade to those of us who have been using their original Epson Scan software all these years with what seems like no significant updates along the way. While other popular applications we all use routinely have received incremental upgrades through the years, as design aesthetics and technologies have changed, Epson has held the original Epson Scan back by ensuring the software looked and worked the same way for over a decade.

There was a glimmer of hope for Windows users in July when a Scan Your Entire Life member posted in the Community forum that the official Epson support site in Australia (where he lives) had posted Windows 10 download links for Epson Scan 2 with support for their current line of Epson Perfection scanners.

Additionally, two weeks later, I received an email from someone living in the UK, and they stated their Epson support website allowed them to download a version of Epson Scan 2 for their Windows 7 system.

With these two confirmed sightings, I started to believe Windows support was finally being released in different countries (internationally) and maybe will eventually end up in the United States at some point soon.

For Windows Operating System
Please use Epson Scan for Windows (i.e. not Epson Scan 2). This is the correct driver that should be used for your scanner and our website has now been updated as it was previously showing both.

For Mac Operating System
For Mac version, Epson Scan 2 is the only driver that can work with macOS Catalina or later OS. This is already on our website and as advised by our software engineers is the correct driver that should used.

While Epson Scan can do a good job working with your scanner to capture the underlying film negative, you may have found that there are some MAJOR headaches with a workflow that fully relies on Epson Scan:

So our goal is use Epson Scan to get an untouched, unconverted scan of the negative. And then we will use the Negative Lab Pro plugin in Lightroom for converting and editing the negative.

This way, you can separate the tasks of scanning the film and editing the film, all your edits can easily be updated in the future because they are non-destructive, and you can get much better colors and tones out of your film scans.

Hi @Stefanhie - great point on black and white - should have mentioned that. Do NOT use Digital Ice on black and white, or you will be in for an unpleasant surprise! The silver crystals in true black and white films confuse the infrared sensors.

Two quick samples using this method to capture in EpsonScan and then process in Negative Lab Pro in Lightroom (the originals were 14,000 x 14,000 for the equivalent of 196 megapixels, but significantly scaled down for the forum!):

Hello, I am testing Negative Lab Pro with my Epson. One question.
Which method is best for good results in Epson Scan with Negative Lab Pro: Scanning in mode with thumbnails (Auto exposure is always on) or Scanning in the mode self-choosing the negatives without Auto exposure.
All other settings like in the description above.

However, I want to be able to set different "profiles" using Epson Scan in Professional Mode, then recall them programmatically in my application. I can browse the registry and find where all these settings live, but I don't know how to get the scanner to use them without starting the scan from the Epson Scan application. Is this even possible? Or is there a way to map the settings to twain settings? I noticed epson lists a CAP_CUSTOMDSDATA capability but this is unfortunately not supported with my scanner.

After discussing with Epson Scan technical support, it seems like this is not possible without custom firmware. The only way to implement some of the settings provided by Epson Scan is by using the application itself.

The workaround for me was to set the appropriate registry values (located at SOFTWARE\Epson\EPSON Scan\ES00FE\Professional) and then opening epson scan (via _twain.CurrentSource.Enable(SourceEnableMode.ShowUI)) and clicking the scan button through the application. A bit hacky but it works.

This wikiHow will teach you how to download Epson scanner software on your computer. After you have the scanner or All-in-One connected to your computer, you can follow these steps to get the appropriate software including any drivers that are required.

Overview of the EPSON Scan Modes
Selecting File Save Settings
Using Full Auto Mode
Changing the Scan Mode
Selecting Basic Settings
Selecting the Scan Resolution
Previewing and Adjusting the Scan Area
Adjusting the Color and Other Image Settings
Selecting the Scan Size
Finishing the Scan

Full Auto Mode is best when you need to scan documents or photos at 100% size and you do not need to preview the images before scanning. You can restore faded colors by clicking the Customize button.

Home Mode is best when you want to preview images of photos before scanning them. You can size the image as you scan, adjust the scan area, and adjust many image settings, including color restoration.

Professional Mode is best when you want to preview your image and make extensive, detailed corrections to it before scanning. You can sharpen, color correct, and enhance your image with a full array of tools, including color restoration.

Specify a file name prefix with an alphanumeric character string. A 3-digit number is automatically added to the file name, but you can change the Start Number if you like. If you are scanning multiple images at once, each image will receive a different 3-digit number.

A compressed file format in which the compression level can be selected. The JPEG format lets you highly compress image data. However, the higher the compression, the lower the image quality. Any lost image quality data cannot be restored and the quality deteriorates each time the data is saved. The TIFF format is recommended when modification and retouching are required.

A TIFF format where multiple pages are saved to the same file. You can also edit the scanned images before saving them. See EPSON Scan Help for details. To open Multi-TIFF files, you need a program that supports it.
