We did enjoy our time vacationing in the PCVR version of the game, and as this holiday period hits, what better time to go vacationing again. But, this time on the Oculus Quest version of the game, so was the trip just as fun on this stand-alone VR device?
So ever since February 1st (the day I got it) Vacation simulator has been working until one day it has not been letting me in the game I thought it was some kind of bug at first so I stopped playing it for 2 weeks came back and still had the same problem and now I'm trying to refund the game but since I didn't play it for 2 hours which, I can't play it. So it's stuck on my app gallery forever, and I guess there is nothing I can do about it but I'm putting in this report so maybe I could get a refund sometime soon
Vacation Simulator is one of those games that's hard to explain. Why in the world would you want a simulation for vacation, particularly one that doesn't look realistic? The trick is understanding what developers Owlchemy Labs designed, and it's not a real-world representation of what your next vacation should look like.
Instead, Vacation Simulator is a tongue-in-cheek representation of what a robot thinks a vacation looks like just as its predecessor, Job Simulator, was a tongue-in-cheek representation of what having a day job looks like. You see, something apparently happened to humanity and the robots that inherited the planet don't understand the human relics left behind.
Just as we humans try to recreate the past based on what we've found, these robots are trying to recreate the experiences humans once had, presumably to better understand them. The hilarity ensues in all the misunderstandings that robots have about what people actually did while on vacation, and it's in these small worlds that'll find yourself laughing and experimenting for hours.
While there are several ways to subvert this shortcoming of the Quest, this issue rears its ugly head in Vacation Simulator more than other games for several reasons. First, it's easy to get lost in the world and vacation until you're tired (or, really, until your Quest is tired). Second, this game is bloody fun to play with friends and family, a fact that's even more exacerbated due to the Quest's simple wear-and-play nature.
Vacation like a robot

Vacation SimulatorPCVR releaseApril 9, 2019DeveloperOwlchemy LabsEngineUnityVacation Simulator is a Virtual-Reality video game released April 9th, 2019 for Oculus Quest, Oculus Quest 2, Steam, HTC Vive and PSVR. It is developed by Owlchemy Labs and is the sequel to Job Simulator. The game's premise is around the player's vacation at Vacation island, which contains 3 Vacation Sites; Vacation Beach, Vacation Forest and Vacation Mountain. The game revolves around Memories, which acts as the currency for the game, allowing you to unlock new sites at Vacation sites. Memories are obtained by fulfilling task that are given to the player by bots that are found around the vacation sites. VacationBot and EfficiencyBot are present in many parts of the game, where they help the player out and manage memories respectively. Vacation Beach, Vacation Forest and Vacation Mountain contain 22, 23 and 24 memories respectively. A total of 69 memories must be found in order to 100% complete the game. Essential game mechanics for Vacation Simulator is the Backpack and Camera. The Backpack allows the player to store up to 8 items, which they can bring to anywhere on the Island. The Backpack additionally holds a Camera, which allows the player to take photos of moments in their vacation. Both are essential for gaining memories.
The main part of the Vacation simulator are it's Vacation Sites. A total of 3 Vacation Sites are in the game, each with their own unique bots, tasks, currency, items, food etc. Each site has one unlockable area, which are unlocked via memories. 5 memories from that Vacation Site are needed in order to unlock the area.
Vacation Simulator is a sequel to Job Simulator and released in 2019. In the game, players hang out at different vacation sites and fulfill tasks given to them by bots. Both Vacation Simulator and Job Simulator are among those must-play VR games.
Like its predecessor Job Simulator, Vacation Simulator takes place in a cartoonish future. You are the only remaining human, and robots have attempted to replicate human pastimes. After working yourself ragged serving sandwiches and fixing cars in the first game, you can enjoy a nice virtual vacation with the same offbeat sense of humor.
Vacation Simulator is a luxury-class upgrade, making it feel much more profound and much richer than the first game. Job Simulator confined you to small workspaces and had every robot customer fly to you. In Vacation Simulator, however, you get to freely explore a large play area comprised of one central hub and three distinct vacation zones.
On the face of it, this looks like a pretty straightforward sequel. The game is comprised of three typical holiday destinations, as well as a luxurious hotel suite, that those witty little robots have cobbled together to simulate the human practice of vacation. It's all presented in a similar way; the floating bots want your help to engage in all kinds of activities across each location, and there's a huge array of things to interact with. It's wonderfully tactile -- even menus are integrated into the world around you.
