So i freshly installed Archlinux, ethernet is working that's how i using internet for now but i noticed that my wifi and bluetooth is not working, as suspected maybe drivers were not installed so i downloaded network-manager-applet to see the wireless connection but it's not available then i used a terminal command for further investigtion "lspci -k" and saw this
My problem is the periodic and chaotic "disappearance" of the WiFi adapter atheros qca9377.I spent a decent amount of time searching for a solution to the problem, everything found on the Internet was reduced to manipulations with linux-drivers and with zero result in my case.Out of desperation, I decided to switch the mouse from WiFi to Bluetooth (and remove WiFi-"whistle" of mouse from USB-port) - and a miracle happened, the problem went away.Apparently some ubuntu updates led to a conflict between the laptop's WiFi- module and the WiFi-"whistle" of mouse.
My network adapter driver is a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter. I have tried updating it to the latest version which is 12.0.0.709 which it still crashes on, going back to an older version which it still crashes on, going to a version which someone stated worked for them and it's still happening. I am severely frustrated at the issue stated above as I have wasted countless weeks trying to fix it and I am hoping someone in this community is capable of providing me with a proper fix for the issue above.
Screenshots attached here show: WiFi properties in Windows 10; where to change WiFi security on an existing connection in Control Panel; the Preferred Band option in the driver properties and where to set WPA3 in the new wireless network connection wizard.
what version qubes you running? What kernel? maybe you should try a diff kernel. see if a newer one in testing repo maybe? maybe this iwll help -need-drivers-for-qualcomm-atheros-device-168c0042-rev-30/
For whatever reason I was having the same issue. Here's my backstory. I was trying to hook-up my Raycon wireless earbuds to my PC so when I am recording my tutorial videos I can hear what I am saying (and to make sure the recording level is correct and there are no sound issues). When I went into Bluetooth settings there was no On/Off switch. So I spent hours trying to figure out how to get this On/Off switch back on my computer with ZERO luck. Then while researching this someone recommended I buy a USB Bluetooth adapter. That sounded awesome and a quick fix. Boy was I wrong. I went to install the drivers from the Targus website and received this error, "COULD NOT START MICROSOFT BLUETOOTH STACK. PLEASE REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER AND TRY AGAIN."
